Yellow House Win This Term's House Treat By One Point

Having led right throughout the term, the Red house were pipped at the post by one point, as the Yellow house came from behind to secure the Easter treat!  They enjoyed a non-uniform day, as well as participating in a 'Great Egg Challenge' and receiving a chocolate surprise!

The house system has been running now for a number of years and the children receive points for good behaviour, being good friends, showing good manners, representing the school well on outings, as well as sporting and academic achievements.

NETBALL TEAM AREA LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!!!

Congratulations to our Netball Team who are now champions of Lisburn Area 2 after a nerve-wrecking afternoon at Lisburn Leisureplex.

The girls are pictured here with the Area Shield - now taking pride of place in the front hall of the school.  This is the first time Ballymacash has ever appeared on the shield, (which has been on the go since 1980!!)

The girls went to both matches today knowing they had won 3 matches in the league already and that St Colman's had won 3 and drawn 1 match.

The pressure was on to win the first match against Ballymacrickett which we did 6-2.

This meant we had 4 wins.

We still had to play St Colman's and knew we needed to beat them to secure a place in the finals.  With the same score, 6-2 we successfully gained a place in the Lisburn Area play-off against Harmony Hill, who were the Area 1 winners.

This final match will be arranged for sometime after Easter and the winner will represent Lisburn in the Northern Ireland finals.

The girls celebrated in style with an ice cream afterwards and are now looking forward to a pizza party in the dining hall at Monday lunch time.

Congratulations to a fantastic team still undefeated this season!!!

Miss Dunsmore swaps School Bells for Wedding Bells during half-term!

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Armstrong on their recent marriage and on behalf of all the staff, parents and pupils - we would like to wish them every blessing in their future together.

Exceptional Closure

The school will be closed on Monday 25th February for staff training.

Friday 22nd February - Thinking Day.

Pupils came to school wearing Rainbow, Guides, Beavers and Scout uniforms in celebration of World Thinking Day.  On this day children in various organisations think of others across the world.

Pupil Council ask the Experts for Top Tips

Our pupil council had an opportunity to meet with two members of Lisburn City Council, both of whom are also members of the current Board of Governors.  Councillors William Leathem and Paul Givan, both took time out of their busy schedules to meet with the pupil council.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, as they picked up many tips for success and had an opportunity to hold their own mini-question time. Thank you to both gentlemen for their on-going support for the school.

Netball Team come runners up in their section at Lisnagarvey Tournament.

The netball team played 4 matches at the recent tournament, beating Maghaberry 5-0, Downshire 7-1, Tonagh 5-0 and drawing with Central 2 - 2.

At the end of the section it was a draw in points between ourselves and Central.  Unfortunately Central had scored more goals in their matches so they went through to the final.  A very close finish!

The girls played brilliantly with sharp passing, super footwork and accurate shooting.  Well done girls!!!  A credit to the school.

Jessica was crowned Player of the Tournament and is pictured here receiving her trophy from the headmaster of Lisnagarvey.
