Half term starts with a scare......
Winners from each class through the school were chosen during our fancy dress fashion show.
First second and third prizes were presented from our PTA.
Aladdin and his magic Genie make a star appearance.....
Big appetites pay off - £490 000 worth of Tesco vouchers!!!
After collecting over 49,000 Tesco vouchers, we were pleased to see the arrival of all our goodies!
Pupils are pictured here with items from the Computers for School Scheme in which we have taken part for the past ten years. This year we were delighted to purchase 5 DVD players, 4 laminators, 2 individual keyboards for Special Needs, mouse mats for our Computer Suite, 10 mice for our pupil laptop trolley, as well as a huge range of toys and art equipment for the Nursery and Playgroup, (pictured below).
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this very worthwhile scheme.
PTA Activity Trail is a Huge Hit!
Thanks to the fund-raising efforts of our PTA the pupils have been enjoying our newly installed Adventure Trail. Costing over £10000, there is something to challenge everyone at break and lunch with each class P1-7 time tabled throughout the week. Pictured here with our Principal Mr Gilmore are PTA members Paula Easton, Michelle Holland and Anne Dobbin as the playground was officially opened.
Once again on behalf of all the staff and pupils we would like to thank everyone for supporting PTA events throughout last year.
New Parents' Prayer Group started this month
A group of parents are met last Wednesday to pray for all that happens within our school. The group will meet on the last Wednesday of each month in St Mark's Church from 9:15-9:45am. If you are interested in joining please contact Naomi and Liza on 0774020409.

Mr Reilly Retires in a Blaze of Glory!
As the term ended we said farewell to one of Ballymacash's legends - Mr Reilly. After two innings in the school, his first being in the 1990s, Mr Reilly said farewell as he set down his chalk (or rather interactive whiteboard pen) for a final time. Over the years he has influenced the lives of many pupils and the steady stream of past pupils throughout his final term bore testimony of this.
We wish him every blessing in his retirement and hopefully between trips to the Emirates he might dropped in and say hello.

A final word from the man himself....
Well, folks, the time has come and I'm off into the great blue yonder!
I would like to dearly say my heartfelt thanks to all who have shown me
staggering generosity in my last weeks. It was humbling to read the cards. Ballymacash is a super school, with lovely children and smashing parents.
How privileged I have been to be a part of it for eleven happy years!
Thank you everyone and take care,
Desi
