Pupil Council

The Pupil Council organised a fun PJ Day to raise money for Cardiomyopathy. Mr Gilmore presented Laura Turner a cheque for £409 on our behalf.

Elected from our Primary 4-7 classes, the pupil council are showing themselves to be serious about their commitment of working to improve the school. Last year they addressed the following issues:

  • Sourced and installed new clocks for the playground, so children can see for themselves how long is left at playtime.
  • Purchased bibs for the P6 and 7 boys to use during football at break times.
  • Responded to a request to open a stationery shop by conducting a survey, acquiring stock and are now planning to trial the venture for a month after Easter on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school.
  • Rectified an issue over a shortage of P3 play equipment at break times.
  • Organised a non-uniform 'Skip to School' day on Friday 6th June to raise funds to purchase new boys hockey and boys football kits.  Along with sponsorship an order of almost £1000 of sports kits were received in October from Reach EPS.

As a committee we have already successfully organised a number of events some of which are listed below:

  • Established a healthy eating snack shop, which is now running on Tuesday-Friday morning in the Dining Centre.
  • Organised a Healthy Eating competition for all pupil.
  • Organised a PJ Day raising £400 for Cardiomyopathy
  • Organised outdoor play equipment for P4 pupils

Projects we are still working on include:

  • Organising a B-Factor event in the summer term
  • Improving the senior pupil toilets
  • Getting basketball nets for the Key Stage 1 playground.
  • Following through the schools quest for an Eco-Schools Silver Award.

If you would like the pupil council to address any other issues which concern you, please speak to your class representative or myself,
