Governors

The Board of Governors, which consists of representatives of the South Eastern Education & Library Board, Transferors (local church representatives), parents and staff.  Their primary role is ensuring the school provides a good quality education.  They have a wide range of responsibilities which include:

  • Setting school aims and policies in relation to: the curriculum, pupil admissions, pupil discipline, special educational needs and pastoral care
  • Ensuring the statutory curriculum is delivered and that all pupils are achieving success at school
  • School Budgets
  • Staff Appointments
  • Promoting good relations between the school and the community
  • Maintenance of the Building
  • Preparing Information for parents
  • Producing an Annual Report

They are very interested in all aspects of school life and strongly support the work of the staff.  Governors normally serve a term of four years and our current Board of Governors consists of the following members:
